As a Quality Engineer / Tester you are part of our in-house Scrum team. Working together with the other members of the team, you will be responsible for monitoring and assuring the quality of the software. To increase our agility we focus on test automation, and that is where your expertise should really kick in. Our goal is to shorten our release cycle significantly, aiming for a continuous deployment environment in the long run.
In this role, you will specify and write (automated) tests using the Gherkin language, both for our front office (PHP based) and our back office (Python based). Knowledge of PHP and / or Python is an advantage, but not required. To be able to define test scenarios, you will need to understand our business flows.
Besides assuring the quality of the developed software, you will play a key role in coordinating and improving the acceptance tests done by our business owners. You will guide them through the necessary steps to ensure that the features they requested, or the bugs they reported, now function correctly, and will advise the teams and business on how we can make this process more efficient.
You work meticulously, and always look for the most viable solution. You think critically, and can provide useful insights at all points of the development process, from idea to development to go-live. You are able to translate complex information into testable scenarios, and implement them with automated testing technologies. You understand the differing needs of internal and external customers.
Besides having excellent technical and analytical capabilities, you also have good communication and social skills.
You prefer to work in an Agile environment (we use Scrum with some Kanban practices) and you are independent, take initiative and communicate proactively. Ideally you have experience with testing an e-commerce environment.
You have at least 3 years experience in a similar position, and ideally a college/university degree in computer science (or equivalent). You are proficient in the English language. Proficiency in Dutch is an advantage but not essential.
Knowledge requirements for this role:
An advantage is the following knowledge:
You are a skilled communicator with an entrepreneurial spirit and an independent personality. You are able to work in a project- and process-oriented manner.
You will fit in well at iBOOD if you enjoy the challenge of working in a fast-growing organization with motivated and smart colleagues. You are someone who thinks ahead, likes to find creative solutions, and does not follow a fixed pattern. You can handle pressure and find it rewarding to make the impossible possible. In short; flexible, inventive and a go-getter!
Note: This vacancy is for a position in Amsterdam. We're open to international applicants but we'll want to talk to you face to face, at least once in our Amsterdam office, before making an offer.
