Within the PHP development team, you will work together with other developers under the responsibility of the CTO. On a day-to-day basis, you will report to the team lead. As a member of the PHP team, you share responsibility for the development of the webshop and the CMS, with an emphasis on great customer experience. You work in a self-organised agile scrum team.
iBOOD is redeveloping its online environment. We are moving towards a microservices architecture with a React based frontend and a PHP based backend. This is a challenging and rewarding project for which we are looking for an experienced PHP developer to help build the backend.
This role requires strong PHP7 skills and a thorough understanding of Symfony 3 and Doctrine. You will be part of the team that develops the new environment as well as maintains the current (customer facing) web systems in a high traffic environment.
You work meticulously, preferably with a test-driven approach, and always look for the most viable solution. You prefer to work in an Agile environment (we use Scrum with some Kanban practices) and you are independent, take initiative and communicate proactively. Besides that, you have at least 3 years experience in a similar position, and ideally a college/university degree in computer science (or equivalent). The ability to coach other team members is an advantage. You are proficient in the English language. Proficiency in Dutch is an advantage but not essential.
Knowledge requirements for this role:
- PHP 7, Symfony Framework 3 or later, Twig, Doctrine
- MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, Varnish
- PHPUnit, Behat
An advantage is the following knowledge:
- React and Redux
- Git, Jenkins, Vagrant, Linux
You are a skilled communicator with an entrepreneurial spirit and an independent personality. You are able to work in a project- and process-oriented manner.
You will fit in well at iBOOD if you enjoy the challenge of working in a fast-growing organization with motivated and smart colleagues. You are someone who thinks ahead, likes to find creative solutions, and does not follow a fixed pattern. You can handle pressure and find it rewarding to make the impossible possible. In short; flexible, inventive and a go-getter!
Note: This vacancy is for a position in Amsterdam. We're open to international applicants but we'll want to talk to you face to face, at least once in our Amsterdam office, before making an offer.
